Prof. Friday Okonofua

Prof. Friday Okonofua MD, PhD is a professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the West African College of Surgeons, the Nigerian Academy of Science, and the African Academy of Science. He has served as the Executive Director of the International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics and as Honorary Adviser on Health to President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria. He has been Dean, Provost, and Member of the Governing Council at the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria.

He has been recognized nationally and internationally for his research, advocacy, and leadership. Prof. Okonofua continues to influence policy, education, and clinical practice in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
